Hey all,
Well, I learned all about Sciatica for the first time last weekend. Out of the clear blue yours truly went to stand up and collapsed in a heap on the floor with extreme pain in my right leg and hip.
Doc is worried it may affect Americas Perimeter Tour. NEVER!! With your support and cheerleading, it can hurt all it wants. This effort will win out!!
Getting my routes firmed up now and will be letting you know soon.
Take care,
Dean

It may be worth your time to visit an accupuncturist before you head out and get an overall pick me up. I have seen one for hip pain and in just 3 sessions it was gone.
Thanks Slavka! I’m actually working with a chiropractor with good results. Nice to hear from you!.
Saw your cancer ride info… kudos to you. My husband Dennis passed away 4 years ago from a malignant brain tumor. I volunteer for Cancer Lifeline in Seattle and take great joy in giving to worthy cause. Now, on sciatica: I have been doing gentle yoga for the past 6 years and find I am able to manage my sciatic problems on my own. The practice also addresses flexiblity and stress issues. Try it, you’ll like it!
Hello Sonja, Thank you for your kind words and yoga tip. I’m so very sorry to hear of your husband. This damn cancer is getting more personal to me with every tragic story I hear.
I’m working with a chiropractor, continuing my workouts, Etc. and so far it seems to be gone. I’m a retired Motor Officer from Seattle PD and had a bad crash some time ago. Now I have bone spurs on my lower spine. All the docs seem to think that contributed to my sudden and very painful sciatica attack. I would very much appreciate it if you would email a photograph of your husband to me at DeanShirey@Gmail.com. I am carrying each and every photograph with me on this ride. My wife Leanne and I envision hundreds of Angels, encircling America, praying for a cure.
Take care and keep in touch,
Dean
Hello again Sonja. Just touching bases with you again. I leave in just over three weeks. Kind of nervous but excited at the same time. It would be an honor to carry Dennises picture with me. Would you please send it? DeanShirey@gmail.com. Take care,
Dean
