However, Yours Truly did have to wonder when, upon arrival at my humble abode, Mission Control reminded me that I had a ride to go on…..leaving in a week!

So there I was, standing in my driveway washing and waxing the Mighty ‘Wing, and contemplating whether or not I should accompany my fellow “Dry Side Ride”ers this year. I felt a sense of obligation because the Dry Side Ride was my invention, and became an annual event shortly thereafter when our good friends David Foxley (W.S.P. Motor Sgt) and “LawDawg” Larry Severance (he’s an attorney but we don’t hold that against him!) joined the ride and David coined the name. A few other friends joined the ride over the years, including “Crazy Mark and Mike” depicted below.

But, I had also just returned from 89 days, and 15,412 miles. After all, Mission Control needs me!!! (Or so I thought).

Needless to say, Your Intrepid Cancer Cure Rider cleaned up his ride, re-packed it, and headed out to meet the crew. 2,000 more miles and one week later (all on the same tires I left for Cancer Ride America on I might add) I was again back in my driveway washing and waxing the mighty ‘Wing. This time Leanne let me stay home awhile. Hmmm……I’m still wondering just what that was all about!!

David rides a Harley. Ken, in his usual fashion, captured the entire 89 days, 15,412 miles in one frame. The photographs he chose encapsulate the road, the ride, the people, the grace, and the wonderful achievement that so many supported and helped happen. Thank you Ken and Judy.
