Dateline Central Florida PowerSports, Orlando Florida. Your Intrepid Cancer Cure Rider is extremely please to announce that there is at least one very professional, friendly Honda dealership and service center in Florida. Yours Truly finally got to take the \u2018Wing in for his oil change and check up. Don\u2019t tell John Smith, my life-long mechanic, but I was just a little over 7,000 miles on his service. <\/p>\n

Thank goodness for two things. One, Hinshaw Honda, Auburn Washington and John Smith are exceptionally good at what they do and I had no worries pushing his pre-flight service to the extreme. Two, my bike is after all a Honda Gold Wing. I could probably go another 7,000 on a single oil change if I really, really had to.<\/p>\n

Anyway, Yours Truly was greeted as I walked into Power Sports a lot later in the day than originally planned. Brandon said no problem, they were all set to take care of Your Intrepid Cancer Cure Rider due to his \u201con the road\u201d status, and we went out and went over the bike. We agreed that a full service would not be needed, but only a safety check and oil change.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And yet, when I picked up the bike merely two hours later, they had gone through it with a fine toothed comb, added air to the tires (and warned me to keep a better eye on them), and even added some coolant. All at no additional charge. A great big THANK YOU!! To Central Florida Power Sports in Orlando. You guys are great!!<\/p>\n

Then Yours Truly headed out to the Yacht Club Hotel at Disney World. A very nice hotel that Mission Control had very carefully selected. THANKS HONEY!! As I walked in I noticed a big BMW Dual Sport parked at the front. Naturally I had to stop and join into the conversation and meet Bruce, the owner. What a nice guy. He is from Ontario, Canada and owns a large manufacturing company up there. He told me he rides around 40,000 miles per \u201cseason\u201d and has been all over and across Canada, the U.S. and even up into Alaska. Like Your Intrepid Cancer Cure Rider, his wife doesn\u2019t ride so all of his long distance trips are solo.<\/p>\n

His bike is covered with stickers of all the places he\u2019s been and he wanted to know why I didn\u2019t have any on my \u2018Wing. I just laughed and said \u201c\u2019cause it\u2019s ‘purdy’\u201d. He laughed and said he\u2019d take care of that. For about six bucks he\u2019d buy a Mickey sticker and when I wasn\u2019t looking slap it on my bike. We all got a good belly laugh outta that! Hmmm\u2026 come to think of it I haven\u2019t had a chance to go check the bike lately\u2026hmmm.<\/p>\n

Here’s a pic of Bruce and his bike. What a great guy!! Oh, and an update from the earlier posting. I talked to Bruce today and he made it as far as Myrtle Beach South Carolina and got rained in by the tropical storm that’s pounding the area. Roads are closed and he’s stuck. He runs a major corporation so he has to fly home and then return at a later date to ride his bike home. He says “That works out good!! I got two rides out of this!” Like I said, what a guy.<\/p>\n

\"Bruce<\/a><\/p>\n

And then it got a little more serious. Bruce lost two sisters to cancer. As he spoke I said a silent prayer for Bruce, his sisters, and his family. And then he caught me completely flat footed and handed me a very handsome cash donation. I was so shocked that I tried to hand it back, assuming he had made a mistake in the darkness. Bruce just smiled and said \u201cNo, I lost my sisters, it\u2019s the least I can do for them\u201d. Now I teared up again, for what seems like the thousandth time on my journey of life, growth, grieving selfishly over my own losses, and once again learning that there are good people out there after 35 years of dealing with the dark side of the public.<\/p>\n

And also today Your Intrepid Cancer Cure Rider happily announces that a very close friend, David Bergeron, just came back with an \u201call clear\u201d after his post surgery cancer checkup. <\/p>\n

And I close with this request. Bow your heads, praise God, and say a prayer\u2026join our Angel Riders in reaching out to surround America and pray to cure cancer throughout the world.<\/p>\n
